Who We Are

“Ama Adhikar is a progressive and non-profit civil society organisation of Odisha ."

Ama Adhikar is undertaking various philanthropic activities in the State since its inception. We are working in whole gamut of areas including welfare of Children with Special Needs (CwSNs) and Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) as one of the prime thrust areas. Out of many focus areas, rights and rehabilitation of PwDs, protection of child rights, livelihood development, implementation of Forest Rights Act (FRA), Panchayat Extension to Schedule Area (PESA) etc. are its prime subjects. The organisation is registered under Societies Registration Act, FCR Act, 12AB and 80G of IT Act, Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPwD) Act, Darpan under NITI Aayog and Ministry of Corporate Affairs to undertake CSR Activities.

Vision

 

To bring about social transformation through a value-based people’s movement with representative of every
corner of the society, protecting human rights and dignity.

Goals

  • To promote action for the sustainable management of the natural resources.
  • To promote action for social upliftment, equality and rights of marginalized and disadvantaged groups like women, children, scheduled caste, scheduled tribes, disable, orphans and poorest of the poor in the community.
  • To foster respect for socially relevant issues like protection of environment, ecology, bio-diversity, indigenous knowledge system, global peace, secularism, brotherhood and similar ideals.
  • To enable the people to be aware of the Govt. schemes and privileges meant for them and assist the people and the Government for their effective implementation
  • To implement especially formulated programs for the socio economic emancipation of the poor, disadvantaged and marginalize groups to raise their self-esteem and to create their equal rights and status within the wider community to enable them to overcome their marginalized situation and bring them in to national mainstream.
  • To promote the concept of forest as development resource and community forestry initiatives.
  • To do any other things which are incidental or ancillary to all or any of the objectives mentioned above.
  • Generate health need among the rural population by creating awareness.

Strategies

  • Collaboration and coordination with government departments, agencies, NGOs, media and individual intellectuals.
  • Working with local institutions at different level to achieve the goal.
  • Promoting people’s participation with gender equity in different programmes.
  • Developing ownership among the people for maintenance of public property
